45 DRIVE
45 DRIVE: The weekly 45 card drive in aid of the Ballybrown Community Resource Centre continues each Thursday night at 8.45pm and your support would be greatly appreciated. The following are the prize winners for May 7th: we had three teams on 8 games and they divided the €160.00, Joan Burke with Rita Lyons, Denis and Eileen Casey, Mary Kenny with Anna Roberts. The table prize went to Denis and Eileen Casey. Raffle as follows : 1: €30, John Cregan, 2: €20, Liam Brown, 3:€20, Donie Lane, 4: €10, Bridget Lynch, 5: €10, Pat Condon and 6:€10, Donie Lane.
Next week May 14 sees the final night of the League and it’s still all to play for down to the wire. Billy Sheerin is on 80, Pat Mulqueen and Donie Lane are on 76, Eithne Ryan and Anthony McGann are on 74, Bobby O’Connell on 72 with Jimmy McNamara and Junior Hogan on 71. 1st prize €150, 2nd prize €80 and 3rd prize €50. The final night takes place on Thursday May 21. Then we take our summer holidays and we will be back again at the end of September. Thanks to all our supporters.

BALLYBROWN/CLARINA COMMUNITY GAMES.
ATHLETICS TRACK & FIELD SPORTS EVENING: Our sports evening is taking place on Tuesday May 12 in Breska Soccer Field. We will have athletic events for all children from U5 to U100+ and field events (Long Puck Boys U12 & Girls U14, Ball Throw for Boys & Girls U12) on the night. Registration will take place at 6.30pm and event will start at 7pm sharp. The first 3 in each event can go forward to represent us in the County Finals which will be held in Mungret on June 19-21. The cost is €3 per child. This is always a very enjoyable evening and great fun is had by all. We would love to see as many children as possible on the night.
ROUNDERS: Training is taking place on Mondays after school and Saturday a 3pm in Breska Soccer Field. New members welcome, we have a team entered in both Boys & Girls U13.
SKITTLES: Training is up and running for our skittles tams. We have entered teams in U12, U14 & U16’s. If you are interested please check with Michael O’Brien.
GAELIC FOOTBALL: Our mixed U10 football team will play their first match this coming week so the best of luck to them.

CONDOLENCES: We would like to extend our sincere sympathy to John and Angela Long, Curraghchase, on the tragic death of their daughter Yvonne and granddaughter Ella in a traffic accident in Poland. Our thoughts are with them and the entire family. Also to the Byrnes Family, Newtown on the death of their mother Tessie and Foley Family Patrickswell on the death of Willie and Paddy. May they rest in peace.

COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTRE DOG NIGHT : There was a great local turnout at the dog track for our fundraiser last Saturday evening. It was a very successful and enjoyable event. STUDENTS SITTING EXAMS: All 3rd Level, Leaving & Junior Certificate students and any other students who will be sitting exams over the coming weeks are invited to the 8.00pm mass on Saturday 16th May in Ballybrown Church and the 6.30pm Mass in Patrickswell church. There will be special prayers for all preparing for exams, a book will be available in both Churches and you are asked to write in the names of those you would like to remember. This book will be placed on the Altar for the duration of the exams.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
The First Holy Communion Ceremony for pupils attending Ballybrown N.S. will take place in St. Joseph’s Church, Ballybrown on Saturday 16th May at 11.00am. This is not just a special family day but a celebration day for the parish.
