BIRDWATCH IRELAND

BIRDWATCH IRELAND are looking for records of breeding Curlew this summer. We are looking for assistance from all those living in rural communities, farmers in particular, for a survey on breeding Curlew. Farmers with breeding Curlew on their land may be eligible for GLAS. When we know where the Curlew are, we will inform the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine, and the farms with Curlew on them will be prioritised for entry into the voluntary Agri-Environment Scheme, [GLAS]. If you think you know of a nesting pair [not a flock], please contact Sean Kelly on 085-1132780 or email curlew@birdwatchireland.ie and we will contact you. Closing date: July 1, 2015.

BALLYBROWN/CLARINA COMMUNITY GAMES

BALLYBROWN/CLARINA COMMUNITY GAMES

ATHLETICS: For all those that qualified from our sports evening to go on to represent Ballybrown/Clarina in the Limerick County Community Games finals which are  being held in Mungret on Friday 19th-Sunday 21st June, training will be held on Tuesday from 3pm to 4pm in the school field.
ROUNDERS – BOYS & GIRLS U13: Well done to our U13 girls who were runners up in the recent rounders county final. They played very well on the night but were beaten by St Senans of Foynes. We wish St Senans all the best in the Munster finals in July. Our U13 boys are through to the rounders county final against Caherdavin. This game will be played in Breska on Monday 8th June at 7.15pm. We wish them all the best.
SKITTLES – U12, U14 & U16’S : Our U12 team were unlucky to have lost in the county final last week to Kilteely. They are a young and strong team so I have no doubt they will be back. Our under 14’s teams won their county final and will now go on to play in the Munster final in July.
GAELIC FOOTBALL :Our mixed U10 football team were very unlucky this year not to have made the county finals. They had some super games but luck was not with us this year, but watch this space next year, they will be back.
