WORLD YOUTH GATHERING 2016

WORLD YOUTH GATHERING 2016: The world Youth Gathering takes place next year in Poland end of July 2016.  Anybody over 18 years from the Parish who is interested in participating in the World Youth Gathering are asked to contact Parish Office, Sacristy or Fr Mike as soon as possible as places need to be booked by end of May 2015.

GLASNEVIN CEMETERY TRIP

GLASNEVIN CEMETERY TRIP: The details for the Ballybrown Pioneer Glasnevin Cemetery and Museum trip are as follows. The trip will take place on Saturday June 13 2015, departing from the Ballybrown Church Car park at 8am. Places are limited with just a few seats left. The cost is €30 including entrance and bus. Please contact Pat Gallagher or Willie Ryan urgently if you intend travelling. There are over twenty names signed up already so don’t delay, book today. The graveyard tour is timed for 11.30am with the Museum experience to follow afterwards. The bus will stop at Junction 14 going up for a break of twenty minutes and will also stop there coming home so that people can get something to eat. Thank you.

45 DRIVE

45 DRIVE: The weekly 45 card drive in aid of the Ballybrown Community Resource Centre has come to an end for the summer. The results for Thursday May 21 were as follows: 1st Prize of €100 went to Bobby and Pauline O’Connell with 9 games. 2nd prize of €60 was divided between Eugene Quinn with Gerry Moran and John Harty with May Doolan on 8 games.

The raffle prizes were as follows 1/ €30, Pat Mulqueen, 2/ €20, Pauline O’Connell, 3/ €20, Pat Mulqueen, 4/ €10, Paddy McCarthy, 5/ €10, Ivan Coughlan, 6/ €10, Margaret Queally.
The league was won by Billy Sheerin with Donie Lane and Pat Mulqueen taking joint second place. The committee would like to thank all our patrons for their great support over the past nine months and we all look forward to the summer break. The cards will resume again on Thursday September 17 at 8.45pm please God. Enjoy the holidays.

Bereavement Support Information Evening

Bereavement Support Information Evening

The next Bereavement Support Information Evening will take place in Milford Care Centre on Tuesday, 26th May 2015 from 7.00-8.30pm.

Members of the Bereavement Service will be in attendance to provide general information on grief and bereavement.   The evening will comprise of: Short talk by members of the Bereavement Service, Different experiences of Grief, Services available and Question Time.   The information evening is Free.

Synod Questionnaire

SYNOD QUESTIONNAIRE: We would urge you to complete the Synod questionnaire; all parishioners are encouraged to have their say from 12 years of age upwards. When completed please drop into any of the sealed boxes in the designated areas throughout the parish on or before Sunday May 31. This will allow us to proceed to the next steps in the Synod 2016 process.

LIAM FENTON – MEMORIAL DAY

LIAM FENTON – MEMORIAL  DAYThere will be a 5K Fun Run/Walk on Sunday May 31 at 1pm starting from the Cú Chulainn Bar. Registration will take place on Saturday May 30 from 2pm – 4pm in the Patrickswell Club House or on the day from 12noon at the Cú Chulainn.  BBQ, Music and Entertainment in the bar following the run, all proceeds will be donated to the Irish Heart Foundation.

CONDOLENCES

CONDOLENCES: The community was saddened this week by the passing of Maureen Hayes in her 93rd year. Maureen served behind the counter of the shop in Tervoe for many years and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Sincere sympathies also to the families of Eileen O’Shaughnessy, Bolane, Kildimo and Nina Collery, South Circular Road Limerick.

45 DRIVE

45 DRIVE: The weekly 45 card drive in aid of the Ballybrown Community Resource Centre continues every Thursday night at 8.45pm and your support would be greatly appreciated. Last weeks winners were as follows : we had two teams on 9 games and they decided to divide the prize money of €160.00, Anthony McGann with Leonard Coughlan and Donie Lane with Pat Mulqueen. The table prize went to Junior Hogan and Jimmy McNamara.

Raffle prizes as follows : 1/ €30, Pauline O’Connell, 2/ €20, Maura Byrnes, 3/ €20, Pat Condon, 4/ €10, Evelyn O’Brien 5/ €10, Maura Byrnes and 6/ €10, Pauline O’Connell.
The league, twelve best scores out of fifteen, has now concluded and after a very close battle Billy Sheerin takes first prize of €150.00 with 84 games. We had joint second prize winners in Pat Mulqueen and Donie Lane with 81 games and they get €65.00 each. The league was a great success and went right down to the wire.
Thursday May 21 is our final drive after which we take a break for the summer months and will be back again god willing in mid September. We would like to thank all our supporters who turned up over the past year. We would like to thank Maura Byrnes and Helen Kennedy for looking after the catering each Thursday night. And a big thank you goes to our organisers Joe Purcell, Peter O’Sullivan and Willie Ryan for another great season and they are off now for a well earned break. See you all on May 21 for the final drive of the season. Thank you.
